KIMI’s work in Bangladesh has continued since 2009. And we also have ministry to some Bengali people living in India
The first group of eight Bangladesh PowerClubs were started in an island area of the Khulna district. They continue today in Christian schools, homes, and tuition centers. The primary leadership is under Love Bangladesh Ministries, headed by Joshe Bose. Joshe took the helm after the untimely death of his brother, John, who founded the first Bangladesh PowerClubs. Joshe is committed to continuing and expanding the work throughout Bangladesh.
A second group of Bengalis have been trained and led by missionary Crista Matthews. She is a part of a home church movement, and has had vision for teaching her apostolic group about the importance of ministry to children, who are often neglected spiritually in these cultures. They, as visionaries, have many challenges to try to raise the vision and importance of children among the newly converted people. The second level of challenges is actually training them what and how to minister to children.

Here is one 2012 graduating class of Bengali PowerClub leaders in India. Shown here with teacher Shay who works with Crista.
We recently heard from other leaders previously trained. They wrote:
“Thought you would be so excited to know that not only is the KIMI resources that you blessed us with back in 2009 continually being used with my street children, but has been used in our church, church’s kids clubs, my American stateside church, and is now being used with a group of children living in the red light area with their parents in Calcutta! WHAT A BLESSING! Let the Word of the Lord go forth!” Rebekah Singh
