LONG LIVE THE KING…..TO BE!
Yes, the darling little British King-to-Be was born today! How we Americans love to watch what happens to the royal family. I’m no different. Then I heard a news caster say, “He knows his destiny,” meaning the baby of course.
I thought, “Yes! How true!” There will never be a day in that young child’s life that he will not be groomed, educated, and trained to take his place in a long line of royals. And it made me wonder what our children would be like if Christian parents were as diligent and deliberate about teaching their children that they are a child of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Oh, they will definitely be told they are loved by God. They will definitely be told they are God’s children. But that is not the same as raising them as royalty who know their destiny!
What would/should that look like for our little “royals”? Among other things they would be taught “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” The King James version says, “But ye are a PECULIAR people.” We’re not like everybody else. Therefore we can’t live like everybody else, or act like them or talk like them.
To be raised in the royal line of Jesus we’re told “Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord; do not touch any unclean thing, and I will welcome you.”
To be heavenly royalty our children are to make God the primary focus of their lives all the days of their lives. You as the parent are to diligently teach them to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.” Jesus added, “And to love others as yourself.”
Young Jesus following royals are to know their destiny and raised to assume their roles.
